Pastoral Leadership Team

Pastoral Leadership collaborates to provide the vision and direction for St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Utilizing their unique and individual charismas, they work together to minister to the Catholic community of Manitowoc and the larger civic community, proclaiming the reign of God is at hand!

Faith Formation Team

Faith Formation is not just for children it is a life-long journey in which we all participate. The goals for parishioners of all ages are to: understand that God loves us and to live in response to that love, know the depth, breadth, beauty and richness of the Christian story and the Catholic faith tradition. We are to hear and understand the word of God as revealed in scripture and live by its truths, participate fully in the sacramental and liturgical life of the church and to experience a meaningful private and communal prayer life. We are to nurture and support each other and to be nurtured and supported in loving, faith-filled communities and to realize all of our God-given potential and use it in service for the common good.

The Faith Formation department of the parish includes: Religious Education (grades 1-5), Edge Middle School Program (grades 6-8), LifeTeen High School Program (grades 9-12), Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), as well as programs for the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation.

School Administration Team

The School Administrative Team collaborates to provide the vision and direction for the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Catholic School. They bring together their individual strengths in the areas of school administration, business administration, development and marketing areas to work as one administrative team ensuring that the mission of the school is maintained.

St. Francis of Assisi School provides children in grades preschool through eighth the opportunity to learn spiritually, academically and emotionally according to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Administrative Support Team

The Administrative Assistants in our parish office make up the Administrative Support Team. They work together in many different facets of the operational details that keep our parish and school office running smoothly. These women are the welcoming presence at the front desk, as well as the helpful voice on the phone, ready to answer any of the hundreds of various questions that they receive each week. They are the right hand of the Administrative Team and are involved in all aspects of the parish and school, including planning of funerals, weddings, Baptisms, First Communions and Confirmations. They also are involved in the recordkeeping of Mass intentions, stewardship offerings, school tuition payments, parish and school databases and coordination and design of the many details that go into the weekly parish bulletin.

Music Team

The Music Ministry Department provides musical direction to the many choirs, cantors, song leaders, organists and other instrumentalists who share their gifts and talents within our parish. Since “those who sing, pray twice”, it is both a challenge and a privilege to ensure good, quality music leadership at the parish masses, funerals, weddings, sacramental celebrations and other devotions. Working collaboratively with the Worship Department, the goal of Music Ministry is to encourage the full, active and conscious participation of our faith community when we gather for worship.

Worship Team

The Worship Team consists of the Director of Worship and three Site Coordinators. This dedicated group prepares a rich variety of prayer opportunities for St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Each weekend ten Masses are celebrated in the three worship sites. The Worship Team trains and coordinates the volunteer services of the many sacristans, servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, art and environment ministers, and ministers of hospitality. Major preparation revolves around the liturgical seasons, especially Christmas, the Triduum and Easter. Before these major seasons, the parish offers Reconciliation Services, in addition to other devotions and prayer experiences. The Worship Team is supported by a 13 member Worship Commission. It also works closely with the Music Team. The goal of the Worship ministry is to provide prayerful, life-giving liturgies for our faith community.

Development Team

The Development Team members bring together their individual strengths in the areas of stewardship, development, public relations and marketing, working in collaboration to accomplish the mission of St. Francis of Assisi Parish as determined by the pastoral plan.
